1. Who we are and what this policy covers

Vibz helps people find, host and attend local events in Guatemala, starting with Antigua, Lake Atitlán and Guatemala City. This policy explains what personal data we collect when you use the Vibz mobile app, the website at vibz.link and related services (together, the “Services”), how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.

Vibz is operated by PushP Solutions (“Vibz”, “we”, “us”). You can reach us at vibz@pushpsolutions.com. This version was last updated on October 6, 2026 and replaces the policy dated June 18, 2024.

You can browse public events and businesses on vibz.link without an account. You need an account to RSVP, follow organizers, chat and host events.

2. Information we collect

Information you give us

  • Account: your name, email address and date of birth (used to confirm you are 18 or older). You sign in with a one-time code we email you, or with Google, Apple or Facebook where offered; if you use one of them, it shares your name and email with us. We do not use passwords. Sign-in is handled by Amazon Web Services.
  • Profile: your name, photos, bio, interests, occupation, hometown, the city you choose, languages, what you are looking for, and links to your social accounts. You can also add optional details such as gender, height, pets, diet, alcohol and smoking; several of these let you choose “prefer not to say”.
  • Events, RSVPs and activity: events you create, events you RSVP to, organizers and businesses you follow, event types you follow, and connection requests and blocks.
  • Messages: your chats with organizers and other users, including events or businesses you share in them.
  • Photos: profile and background photos, and images you upload for events or businesses.
  • Organizer and business details: business name, description, address and map location, contact email and phone, opening hours, website and social links, and event details such as date, place, price and ticket link, if you host events or list a business.
  • Paid plans: if you buy an optional paid plan, Apple or Google takes the payment. We receive and store confirmation of the purchase (the plan, the store’s transaction or purchase identifier, its status and renewal and expiry dates), not your card number.
  • Flyers: if you use the flyer scan on vibz.link, the flyer image and any notes you add are sent to Google’s Gemini service to read the event details so you can review them before posting. We keep a copy for up to about an hour so the same flyer is not scanned twice.
  • Communications with us: support emails, reports and feedback.

Information collected automatically

  • Location: the Services do not read your device’s location. When you search for or pick an address, for example for an event or a business, the place you choose (its address and map coordinates) is saved with that listing, and we use the coordinates to match it to the nearest city. You choose your own city. Google Maps and Places receive what you type into address search.
  • Device and usage data in the apps: we use Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics (Google) in the released apps. They collect the screens you view, buttons you tap and features you use (for example creating an event or viewing a profile), your device model, operating system and app version, language, an app identifier and crash reports. We link this to your Vibz account identifier, an internal ID that is not your name or email. Device identifiers can include the Android advertising ID; we do not use it for advertising.
  • IP address and logs: our servers and hosting providers record technical data such as your IP address and details of each request.
  • Push notification tokens: an identifier we store with your profile so we can send the notifications you allow, such as event reminders and new messages. The text of a notification passes through Apple’s or Google’s push service to reach your device.
  • Counts for organizers: organizers see counts of how their events and pages are doing, such as views and taps on tickets, directions and share. On vibz.link these counts use a random ID that lasts only for your browser tab and is not linked to your account. In the apps, organizers also see totals for attendees, including age ranges and gender groups, not names.

Cookies and similar storage on vibz.link

  • Language and filters: cookies that remember your language (for one year) and your last city, event type and business category (for about six months).
  • Sign-in and session: when you sign in, your browser keeps your sign-in session in its local storage. Temporary session storage remembers things like where to return after sign-in, and ends when you close the tab.
  • Analytics: on most pages we use Google Analytics (through Firebase) to understand how the site is used: pages viewed, taps such as “open in the app” and “share”, approximate location from your IP address, device and browser details, and where you came from. It sets its own identifiers in your browser. We do not load it on the business claim page. You can block cookies and storage in your browser settings, or use Google’s opt-out tools; the site will still work.

What we do not ask for. We do not ask for government IDs or for bank or card numbers. What you write in event posts, chats or your bio is up to you, so please avoid sharing sensitive details there.

Information from public sources. To help people find what is on, Vibz also creates basic business pages and event listings from publicly available information, such as a business’s name, category, address, website and social media links, and an event’s title, date, time, place, price and a link to the original post. This is information about businesses, organizations and events, not about private individuals, and we do not collect attendee lists, comments or personal profiles this way. The business or organizer can claim, correct or ask us to remove these listings (see section 7).

3. How we use your information

We use your information only for the purposes below. Where data protection law such as the GDPR applies to you, the legal basis for each purpose is shown in brackets.

  • Run the Services: create your account, show events and businesses, process RSVPs and follows, deliver messages, send the notifications and reminders you asked for, and process your paid plan (performance of our contract with you).
  • Show events near you: use the city you choose and the addresses on listings to show you what is on in your city (performance of our contract with you).
  • Read flyers: process a flyer you upload to fill in an event for you to review (performance of our contract with you).
  • Keep people safe: handle reports, block abuse and spam, and enforce our terms (legitimate interests, and legal obligation where required).
  • Improve and secure Vibz: fix crashes, understand which features and pages are used, give organizers counts of how their events and pages are doing, and prevent fraud and misuse (legitimate interests).
  • Contact you: send service messages and, where you have agreed, news about events and features. You can opt out of marketing at any time (consent or legitimate interests, depending on your country).
  • Meet legal obligations: respond to lawful requests and keep records the law requires.

We do not sell your personal data, and Vibz does not show third-party ads.

4. What other people can see

Vibz is a social app, so some of your information is visible to others by design.

  • Events and businesses: published events and business pages, including the host, description, date, time, place and photos, are public. Anyone can see them on vibz.link without an account.
  • Your profile: other signed-in Vibz users can see the profile details you add, such as your name, photos, bio, age (worked out from your date of birth), interests, occupation, hometown, languages, social links and the optional details described in section 2.
  • RSVPs: when you RSVP, other signed-in users, including the organizer and other attendees, can see that you are going, along with your name and photo.
  • Follows and profile views: the accounts you follow and the accounts that follow you can be seen by other signed-in users, and follower counts are shown on profiles. If you view someone’s profile, they may be able to see that you did.
  • Photos: profile, business and event photos are stored at web addresses that anyone who has the link can open without signing in.
  • Messages: your chats are visible to the people in the conversation, including organizers. Messages are encrypted in transit but are not end-to-end encrypted, so authorized Vibz staff can access them to handle reports and support requests. The text of a new message can appear in the push notification sent to the other person’s device. If you delete your account, the conversations you were in are deleted for everyone in them.
  • Content you post: anything you add to a public event or profile can be copied or shared by others, for example in a screenshot. We cannot control copies made outside Vibz.
  • Blocking: you can block other users from the app, under Menu, Account and Blocked Users.

5. Service providers, sharing and international transfers

We use the providers below to run Vibz. They process data on our instructions and under their own privacy and security terms.

ProviderWhat it does for us
Amazon Web ServicesCloud hosting for our backend: sign-in, database, file storage, sign-in emails and logs. It holds your account, profile, events, RSVPs, messages, uploads, purchase records and device tokens.
Google (Firebase, Google Analytics, Google Maps and Places, Gemini, Google Play)Push notifications (including the notification text), analytics and crash reports, maps and address search (including the addresses you type), reading the flyers and notes you upload, Android purchases and sign-in with Google.
Apple (push notifications, App Store, sign in with Apple)Delivers push notifications to iPhones (including the notification text), processes iPhone purchases and signs you in with Apple.
Meta (Facebook Login)Signs you in with Facebook, where offered, and shares your name and email with us.
VercelHosts vibz.link and our admin tools. It sees your IP address and request logs.

Links and embeds. Event and business pages can embed Google Maps and link to third-party sites such as ticketing platforms, social networks and organizers’ websites. When you load or click them, those services receive information such as your IP address and may set their own cookies under their own policies. Vibz does not sell tickets or handle payments for events.

We may also share information with:

  • Other users and organizers, as described in section 4.
  • Authorities, when the law requires it or when needed to protect people’s safety or our rights.
  • A buyer or successor, if Vibz is involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets. We would tell you first and the same protections would apply.
  • Anyone else, only with your consent.

We do not sell your personal data.

International transfers. Our data is stored mainly on AWS servers in the United States (US East, Ohio). Our other providers, such as Google, Apple, Meta and Vercel, may process data in the United States and other countries. If you use Vibz from Guatemala, the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or elsewhere, your data is transferred to and processed in the United States and other countries. Where the law requires it, we rely on safeguards such as the standard contractual clauses included in our providers’ data processing terms.

6. Retention and security

How long we keep data

DataHow long
Account, profile, RSVPs, follows, uploadsUntil you delete your account
MessagesUntil the conversation or an account in it is deleted
Events and business pages you hostUntil you delete them or your account
Purchase recordsUntil you delete your account. Apple and Google keep their own records of your purchases.
Analytics and crash dataHeld by Google under its retention settings. Deleting your account does not remove data already collected.
Short-lived technical records, such as markers that stop a notification or a visit being counted twiceDeleted automatically within about two days
Logs and backupsKept as long as needed for security, troubleshooting and recovery, then deleted or overwritten. Copies of deleted data can remain in them until then.
Reports of abuse and related recordsLonger if needed to enforce our terms or comply with the law

How we protect it. Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and stored with AWS encryption at rest. Sign-in is handled by Amazon Web Services, and access to our systems is limited to the people and services that need it. No system is completely secure. If a breach affects your personal data, we will notify you and the authorities as the law requires.

7. Your rights and deleting your account

You can ask us to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you and get a copy.
  • Correct data that is inaccurate or incomplete.
  • Delete your account and personal data.
  • Export your data in a common, machine-readable format.
  • Object to or restrict certain uses of your data.
  • Withdraw consent at any time, for example for push notifications, which you can also switch off in your device settings. Withdrawing does not affect what we did before.
  • Opt out of marketing messages using the link in them or by contacting us.

Wherever you live, we will honor these requests. If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom (GDPR) or California (CCPA/CPRA), they are legal rights, and we will not treat you differently for using them. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.

Delete your account in the app. Open Menu, then Account, and choose Delete Account. You can also sign in on vibz.link, open Account and choose Delete Account. Step-by-step instructions are at vibz.link/delete-account.

What deleting removes. Your profile, RSVPs, follows, connections and blocks, notifications, photos, the events you created, your purchase records and your conversations (for everyone in them) are deleted. For a business or organizer account, the business page, its events and its analytics are deleted too. Copies in logs and backups, and analytics data held by Google, can remain as described in section 6. Deleting your account does not cancel a plan you bought from Apple or Google; cancel it in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings.

Other requests, or if you cannot use the app. Email vibz@pushpsolutions.com from the address linked to your account, or see vibz.link/contact. We may ask you to confirm your identity first, and we will reply within 30 days.

Businesses and organizers. If a business page or event listing about you was created by Vibz, you can ask to claim, correct or remove it at vibz@pushpsolutions.com or vibz.link/contact. We will acknowledge your request within 5 business days, and a listing we remove will not be added again. Rights holders can use the same route to report material that infringes their rights.

8. Children, changes and contact

Children. Vibz is for people aged 18 and over. We ask for your date of birth when you sign up and do not allow sign-up under 18, but we cannot verify the date you give, and we do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If we learn that we have, we will delete the account and its data. If you believe a child is using Vibz, please tell us at vibz@pushpsolutions.com.

Changes. We will post any update at vibz.link/privacy with a new “last updated” date. For material changes, we will tell you in the app or by email before they take effect.

Languages. This policy is available in English and Spanish and both versions are meant to say the same thing. If you notice a difference, please let us know.

Contact. Questions or requests: vibz@pushpsolutions.com or vibz.link/contact.

The vibe is in the app.
